Cadre is a tool that gives photographers feedback on their photos. This policy explains what we collect and why, in plain language.
What we collect
Your account — your name, email, and a securely hashed password. You must be 18 or older.
Your profile — the level, equipment, goals, bio, and avatar you choose to add.
Your photos & critiques — photos you upload, the camera settings read from them, the notes and technique flags you add, and the feedback you receive. A small thumbnail is stored with each critique so you and your mentor can see your history. We never read or store GPS location from your photos.
Your questions — questions you ask your mentor and follow-ups on critiques.
Your agreements and preferences — when you accept the Terms, or change the featuring or email preference, we record what you chose, when, and the network address and browser used. This is our proof of your consent.
Basic usage — counts of critiques, questions, and voice plays (for fair-use limits), notifications you opt into, and ratings you give critiques.
How it's used
To generate your critiques and answers, your photo and profile are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) solely to produce your feedback. Spoken narration is generated by a voice provider (ElevenLabs) from the critique text only.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your photos to train AI models.
Your photos and critiques may appear in Cadre's marketing unless you opt out — at signup or anytime in Settings (see "Featuring your work" in the Terms).
We email you about new mentors, features, and offers only while the email preference is on. Every such email has an unsubscribe link; account emails (confirmations, resets, billing) are sent regardless.
If you subscribe, payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your card number.
Your control
You can edit your profile anytime, change the featuring and email preferences in Settings, and permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings. Deletion is immediate.
